Melanson had been hospitalized anonymously, said the post. Police were able to identify Melanson, but the recently found woman has not reached out to her mother.

Karisa Carmella Melanson, 38, left her home in Chelsea on Tuesday, Jan. 10 and has not returned since, according to the Chelsea Police Department.

The missing woman has been known to abuse narcotics, say police, and may seek treatment if she is detoxing.

Melanson is described as a white female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with brown eyes and dirty brown hair. She has pierced ears and possibly has a nose piercing.

She was last seen wearing black leggings, UGG boots, and a sweater.

Police currently have no suspicions of foul play, but ask that anyone who locates her contact Detective Captain Dave Betz at (617) 908-6046 or (617) 466-4822.
